No need for rep under probe to step down yet, says Chow

There is no need for the Penang assemblyman under investigation over allegations of domestic violence to step down from his post yet, says Penang chief minister Chow Kon Yeow.
Chow said the police should be given room to carry out their investigation into the matter first.
“Let’s wait for (the next course of) action from the police,” he told reporters when met at the state assembly building here today.
“There are those who have been charged in court, but are still serving,” he added without mentioning names.
Yesterday, Penang police chief Dennis Lim said the statements of four people had been recorded, including the assemblyman and his wife.
Lim said no arrests had been made, and that police would consult medical experts as part of the investigation.
