MANILA, Philippines — The International Criminal Court (ICC) is holding today the fourth status conference on former president Rodrigo Duterte’s crimes against humanity case.
Commencing at 10 a.m. in The Hague, Netherlands (4 p.m. in Manila), the status conference will be livestreamed with a 30-minute delay.
Expected to be tackled are the trial schedule, including time allotted for opening statements and the first block of evidence to be presented in December.
Parties will discuss the prosecution’s witness list and number of hours to present the case, the estimated time needed by the defense and victims’ common legal representative.
Duterte’s attendance remains unclear.
He appeared at the Sept. 16 status conference.
No waiver of appearance has been publicly released.
The ICC Trial Chamber III has found Duterte fit to stand trial, which begins Nov. 30.
