Anthrax Release Cursum Perficio, First New Album in 10 Years: Stream

Anthrax have at long last released Cursum Perficio, the legendary thrash metal band’s first new album in 10 years.
Cursum Perficio is comprised of 11 tracks showcasing one of the most diverse but also one of the best set of songs Anthrax has delivered in their 45-year career
We gave thorough praise to the punchy political thrash of lead single “It’s For the Kids, ” which was named our Heavy Song of the Week upon its release, and to “The Edge of Perfection,” a single which saw the band incorporating tremolo riffs and blastbeats. The band also released “Everybody’s Got a Plan” which showcased a wonderful AOR/hard rock side of the band not captured in those two earlier singles.
Along with the release of the album, the band has unveiled a music video for the title track, starring actor-musician London May.
Initially, drummer Charlie Benante said it was not necessarily their final album, a statement guitarist Scott Ian was less certain about, saying it very well could be their last full-length record.
Anthrax are currently on the road in North America as part of Iron Maiden’s “Run For Your Lives” tour alongside fellow Big Four thrashers Megadeth. The outing has a handful of dates left, with tickets available here.
