Fifty years of “Kisstory” culminates in one last celebratory, but chaotic world tour in the new trailer for the upcoming documentary, Kiss: End of the Road.

The new film will offer a behind-the-scenes look at Kiss’ lengthy farewell tour, which launched in January 2019 and wrapped with a grand finale at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Dec. 2, 2023. The new trailer features plenty of Kiss’ characteristic on-stage theatrics, complemented by proclamations like this one from Paul Stanley: “Rock and roll is in my blood. I certainly wanted to get back out there to kick ass.”

But the trailer doesn’t shy away from some of the trek’s more difficult moments, like when a dehydrated Gene Simmons had to play sitting down during a concert in Brazil. The clip also ends with snippet of a candid interview with Simmons, still in his full make-up and costume, reflecting on the impending end.

“Emotionally, it won’t hit me until it hits,” he says. “You know your parents are gonna die, but when it happens it’s a kick to the gut.”

Kiss: End of the Road was directed by DJ Viola and is set to premiere Nov. 19 during a special livestream on Kiss’ website. Fans can get access to the livestream now, with prices starting at $14.99; and they’ll also have a seven-day viewing window to watch End of the Road after its premiere. The doc is expected to be released on other platforms over the coming months.

While the “End of the Road” tour marked Kiss’ last tour, the band did return to the stage last fall for a special multi-day event in Las Vegas, “Kiss Kruise: Land-Locked in Vegas.” (It also marked the band’s first shows without guitarist Ace Frehley, who’d died a month before.) The event is slated to return this years, taking place Nov. 13 through 15 at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas.
