Minister Airlangga Hartarto praises ANTARA Business Forum 2026

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto commended the ANTARA Business Forum (ABF) 2026, which provided a platform to exchange views on Indonesia's economic direction, while also expressing appreciation for ANTARA News Agency.

"I appreciate this business forum because ANTARA has become 'the spring' of news reporting. Therefore, I appreciate this event and its good organization," he said during a press conference held on the sidelines of the forum in Jakarta on Wednesday.

The ABF 2026 brought together government officials, business leaders, economists, and academics to foster synergy in advancing economic growth as Indonesia looks toward its prospects in 2027.

Held under the theme "The Synergy Horizon: Positioning Indonesia for the Next Decade," the business forum explored a broad range of economic challenges and opportunities, as well as policies and strategies aimed at strengthening Indonesia's position over the next 10 years.

ANTARA News Director Virgandhi Prayudantoro described the event as a means of building "a solid communication bridge" connecting economic policymakers and stakeholders.

He argued that fostering strong collaboration among the government, the business community, academics, and economists is crucial to strengthening Indonesia's economic resilience and growth while adapting its development strategy to evolving global dynamics.

"We hope that the ideas, analyses, and practical solutions generated through this forum will provide constructive input for both the government and the business sector in taking strategic steps," he said.

The news director also emphasized that ANTARA remains committed to its role as the national news agency in enhancing public understanding of the country's economic developments.

"ANTARA will continue to monitor and document every stage of the country's economic transformation to strengthen public understanding and garner support from all segments of society," he said.

Policymakers and stakeholders discussed a range of issues during the forum, including the direction of fiscal and macroeconomic policies in 2027, national industrialization, digital sovereignty, and support for micro, small, and medium enterprises.

Minister Airlangga represented the government alongside several senior officials, including Finance Minister Suahasil Nazara, Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, and Deputy Head of the State-Owned Enterprises Regulatory Agency (BP BUMN) Tedi Bharata.
