The Wanted singer Tom Parker’s widow Kelsey gives birth after stillbirth ordeal

The Wanted singer Tom Parker’s widow has given birth after a previous baby with her new partner was stillborn.

Kelsey, who has two children with her late husband who died in 2022 at the age of 33 after being diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour, announced the birth with a picture of the baby’s right arm next to a sign which read “River” posted to Instagram.

She said in the post: “Welcome to the world, River. Our little bit of hope.”

The podcaster and author was congratulated on the baby by a number of famous faces including The Saturdays singer Rochelle Humes, TV presenter Susanna Reid and reality TV star Holly Hagan-Blyth.

Humes said: “Congratulations angel.”

Reid posted: “Oh my goodness – this is so wonderful – welcome River.”

While Hagan-Blyth added: “I am so happy for you.”

Speaking about her stillbirth ordeal on ITV’s Good Morning Britain, which Reid presents, earlier this year, Kelsey explained how Phoenix, her son with new partner Will, was born at home at 39 weeks into her pregnancy.

She said the labour lasted only minutes and so her midwife did not have time to arrive.

Kelsey told the programme: “You could just see that he was no longer with us.

“Obviously, straight away we called the ambulance. They took nine minutes to come, and just when they arrived… the only way I can describe it, it was like I was in a film, and this wasn’t real, and it wasn’t happening to me.”

She said they took Phoenix and called the police, who told her that her home was a “crime scene”.

The podcaster and author said the situation got worse as they took Phoenix away and she was told to attend the hospital maternity unit where she had to wait to be seen surrounded by mothers and their newborn babies.

Police have since apologised to Parker, and she was told the paramedics who attended her house had never seen a stillborn baby before.

She announced her latest pregnancy in May with a video of hands being removed from a table to reveal a picture of her baby scan, posted on Instagram.

In the post, she said: “A year ago next month, we lost our beautiful baby boy, Phoenix.

“And somehow, through all the heartbreak, it feels like Tom and Phoenix have sent us another little gift from heaven, our little rainbow baby.”
