Rantau Panjang MP Siti Zailah injured in second crash in two years

LIPIS: Rantau Panjang member of parliament Datuk Siti Zailah Mohd Yusoff was injured after the vehicle she was travelling in crashed along the Lingkaran Tengah Utama expressway yesterday evening.
Zailah, 63, and her 26-year-old daughter were travelling from Gua Musang, Kelantan, to Kuala Lumpur when the accident occurred at 6pm.
Her daughter, who was driving the sport utility vehicle, escaped unhurt.
District police chief Superintendent Ismail Man said the driver was believed to have lost control of the vehicle, causing it to skid before crashing into a road barrier.
"The MP sustained injuries to her chest and abdomen and was taken to Kuala Lipis Hospital for treatment. Her daughter was unhurt," he said in a statement.
Ismail said the case is being investigated under Rule 10 of the Road Traffic Rules for failing to control a vehicle, punishable by a RM300 fine.
Two years ago, Zailah sustained minor injuries when the pickup truck she was travelling in was involved in an accident along Jalan Bukit Antarabangsa in Selangor.
