Turnstile’s Brendan Yates Ejects Security Guard Who Apparently Took a Swing at Fan: Watch

Translate

Frontman Brendan Yates jumped off the stage during Turnstile’s show at The Criterion in Oklahoma City on Monday night, October 5th, to confront and eventually eject a security guard who apparently took a swing at a fan.

Fan-filmed footage posted on Reddit shows Yates’ stopping the show mid-song, and hopping down to the floor, where he tries to pull the security guard off the concertgoer. He is then heard saying, “You’re done, he’s done,” and seen lecturing the guard about his behavior, before explaining the situation to the other guards. At one point, bandmate Franz Lyons also jumps down, with his bass still in hand, to assess the scene.

The video picks up moments later with Yates back onstage, telling the crowd, “To the security that’s doing a great job, a great job at what you’re doing — thank you. There are some that didn’t get the assignment. And I know that all of you are coming up here and trying to have a good time, and it’s high energy, and there’s movement. And there’s no need for anyone to be swinging on anyone just coming over the barrier. That security guard cannot be here. [We] won’t play if he’s still here. And the rest, thank you for adjusting, and keeping this peaceful.”

Turnstile, who just performed on Saturday Night Live over the weekend, then continued on with the show, completing a 20-song set.

The Baltimore hardcore band is in the midst of a North American tour that runs through an October 18th show in Santa Ana, California. Tickets to the remaining dates are available here (save $20 on a first-time order of $200 or more with promo code COS20.)
