Zendaya's career keeps shooting for the moon.
The actor has officially been cast in A24's latest sci-fi movie, with new details now emerging about the upcoming film. Zendaya's list of best movies continues to grow and change as she keeps landing high-profile movie roles. In 2026, this included a role as Athena in Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, a reprisal of her role as MJ in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and the dark comedy romance movie The Drama, where she starred opposite Robert Pattinson. Her next movie is Dune: Part Three, where she'll return as Chani.
Now, according to a new report from Deadline, Zendaya has officially been cast in the starring role of A24's new sci-fi movie from Civil War director Alex Garland. There are currently not plot details available for the movie, with the genre being the only element that's been confirmed about it. The movie is planned to shoot sometime next year. It makes for the second upcoming movie under Garland's belt, the other being a live-action Elden Ring adaptation, scheduled for release on March 3, 2028.
