KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 11 — K-pop girl group TWICE’s plans for a small-scale fan party marking their 11th anniversary have reportedly drawn criticism from some fans, amid continuing questions over the members’ future with JYP Entertainment.

US-based K-pop news site allkpop reported that the ONCE UPON A THRI11 fan party will be held in Seoul on October 17, with only 750 places available across three sessions.

Each session, scheduled for 2pm, 4pm and 6pm, will accommodate 250 fans, while the exact venue will reportedly be disclosed only to those selected to attend.

The limited capacity has reportedly prompted complaints from fans, given TWICE’s international following and the larger venues used for previous anniversary celebrations, according to the report.

The group previously held its eighth- and ninth-anniversary events at Seoul’s Olympic Hall, before staging its 10th-anniversary fan meeting at Hwajeong Gymnasium.

The upcoming celebration also comes amid reported uncertainty over the nine members’ individual contracts with JYP Entertainment, after all of them renewed their agreements with the agency in July 2022.

Jeongyeon reportedly left JYP in August and signed with Varo Entertainment to pursue acting while remaining a member of TWICE, while Chaeyoung has also been reported to be pursuing separate arrangements for her individual activities while continuing with the group.

allkpop said uncertainty over the other members’ individual arrangements has added to fan interest in whether the group will address its future during the anniversary gathering.

TWICE debuted under JYP Entertainment in October 2015 and has since grown into one of K-pop’s most prominent girl groups.
