BI maintains key benchmark rate at 5.75 percent in September

Translate

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Bank Indonesia (BI) decided to hold its benchmark BI-Rate at 5.75 percent following its monthly Board of Governors Meeting (RDG) held on September 22-23, 2026.

The central bank also kept the deposit facility rate at 4.75 percent and the lending facility rate at 6.50 percent.

"This decision remains consistent with the exchange rate stabilization strategy amidst persistent external pressures, aiming to support the achievement of the inflation target of 2.5 percent—plus or minus 1 percent—in 2026 and 2027, as well as to foster sustainable economic growth," BI Governor Destry Damayanti stated here on Wednesday.

Destry emphasized that the central bank will continue strengthening incentive policies to attract foreign capital inflows, maintain exchange rate stability, as well as accelerate the development of money and foreign exchange markets.

Meanwhile, macroprudential and payment system policies will continue to be directed toward supporting sustainable domestic economic growth, she added.
