Prime Video Adds Golf’s Revived Skins Game To 15-Hour Live Sports Blitz On Black Friday

Prime Video is continuing its revival of golf‘s Skins Game, adding the personality-driven competition to a 15-hour blitz of live sports on the day after Thanksgiving.
The Amazon streamer’s Black Friday slate will also include an NFL game and an NBA doubleheader. The NFL tilt at 3 p.m. ET will see the Philadelphia Eagles will take on the Chicago Bears. Later, coverage of the in-season Emirates NBA Cup tournament will feature games between the Miami Heat and the New York Knicks and the L.A. Lakers facing the San Antonio Spurs.
The day will begin with the 9 a.m. ET tee-off of the Skins Game, whose field this year includes Wyndham Clark, Brooks Koepka, Justin Thomas and PGA Tour rookie Jackson Koivun. The four will vie for $4 million in prize money at Atlantic Fields Club in Hobe Sound, FL.
Each hole carries a dollar value and tied holes roll over, a rule designed to raise the stakes. In a return to the original format, this year each player will start at zero dollars, making every hole’s value and growing purse clear for viewers.
The Skins Game, which originated in 1983 as an annual made-for-TV contest during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend with participants like Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer and Tiger Woods, was brought back last year by Prime Video. Sponsored by Farmers Insurance, it is developed and produced by Pro Shop Studios and Propagate Content, with Excel Sports Management organizing play and PGA Tour Studios handling broadcast production.
“The response to last year’s re-launch showed us how much The Skins Game still resonates with golf fans, while also proving there’s an opportunity to keep making it feel fresh for a new generation,” Chad Mumm, Co-Founder and President of Pro Shop.
“The Skins Game has always been about hole-by-hole drama, and Atlantic Fields gives that drama an incredible new stage this Black Friday,” added Ben Silverman, Chairman & Co-CEO of Propagate Content. “We’re proud to build on our long-term partnership with Prime Video to keep growing this event into one of the signature moments on the golf calendar.”
Host Andrew Catalon and on-course analyst Colt Knost, who are golf broadcasters for CBS Sports, will return in their respective on-air roles. Dan Rapaport will also provide live on-course commentary during the match.
