Daft Punk Team With Lego for Set Based on Classic Pyramid Stage

French duo drop teaser video ahead of 2027 collaboration with toymakers

Daft Punk will reunite in Lego form for a new set developed around the French duo’s classic pyramid stage.

The group first teased the upcoming collaboration with the toymaker Wednesday during their “Daft Punk – WDPK 83.7” transmission. On Thursday, Daft Punk and Lego confirmed a set was on the way in 2027 with a video showing the duo in Lego form as their brick-built console forms around them:

Plans for a Daft Punk set first arose in 2020 when a Luxembourgish father-and-son overwhelmingly won the company’s annual contest Lego Ideas challenge. “This all started as a creative escape during lockdown between my son and I because of our shared love of Daft Punk and Lego-building,” Patrick Harboun, who concocted the initial Daft Punk set, said in a statement.

“We never dared imagine it would take off in this way,” he added. “Watching our passion project become part of an official collaboration is an incredible experience, and it’s a reminder of what makes the Lego Ideas community so special. That a simple idea, shared by fans, really can become something much bigger.”

Below is Harboun’s winning submission, though the company notes that this is not the final model that Lego ultimately produced:

The Lego set is based on the pyramid stage design that Daft Punk performed during their famed Alive 2007 run. “The pyramid stage is one of the most recognizable expressions of Daft Punk’s visual world, so it feels fitting that this fan-created design will be centre stage of this partnership,” Daft Punk’s creative director Cédric Hervet added. “Fans have always played an important part in Daft Punk’s story, and we are excited to see that creativity reflected through the Lego universe.”

Julia Goldin, the company’s chief product & marketing officer, added in a statement, “What makes this partnership so special is the enduring appeal both brands share. Like the Lego brand, Daft Punk inspires generations through creativity, innovation and a deep connection with fans. We’re excited to build on these foundations to reimagine the Daft Punk legacy in a fresh and unexpected way, creating something unique that resonates with fans across all ages. This is just the beginning of a bigger journey – a creative collab made for fans ready to lose themselves to play.”

More details about Daft Punk’s Lego set, including preorder information and the full version of the pyramid set, will arrive in the coming months.
