Jeramie Sanico, a “Tawag ng Tanghalan” alum based in Australia, impressed the audience and the coaches at “The Voice Australia,” earning a four-chair turn during the blind auditions.

Sanico belted out her rendition of Celine Dion’s “Because You Loved Me,” as seen in clip shared by the reality show on its Instagram page on Monday, Aug. 17.

When Sanico was singing the chorus, coach Richard Marx finally turned his chair, with fellow coaches Ronan Keating, Kate Miller-Heidke, and Melanie C following suit.

“I have not been on TV since ‘Showtime.’ My last TV competition was 10 years ago. Since I’ve been in Australia, the only time I sang was in our churches and they weren’t performances but renditions to God,” she said. “Tonight, I was really nervous, as you can hear in the beginning. But I’ve poured my whole heart into it. I meant every word of that song.”

“Coming to Australia, I know that I’m gonna have to start all over again when it comes to singing, but I didn’t expect that it will lead me here,” she continued. “Coming from a humble life in the Philippines, who would have thought that a little girl born with a big dream will be able to step in ‘The Voice’ stage.”

Sanico dedicated her performance to God, saying she’s grateful wherever the journey takes her. “It was God all along, and tonight, I’m giving it all back to Him.”

Sanico joined “Tawag ng Tanghalan” in 2016 and advanced to the semi-finals round after winning the daily competition for five consecutive times. She, however, decided not to continue her journey at the competition due to “personal commitments.”

In a recent post, Sanico, an Adventist, disclosed that her reason at the time was rooted in her faith as she chose not to compete on the Sabbath. /edv
