SAN ILDEFONSO, Ilocos Sur — The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) has extended assistance to the family of a Filipino migrant worker from Pangasinan who died in an October 21 drone attack at Saudi Aramco’s Shaybah oilfield in Saudi Arabia.

The identity of the Filipino victim has not been made public, as officials of the OWWA Ilocos Region’s Welfare Office visited the bereaved family at the Pangasinan town of Malasiqui on Oct. 22, a day after learning of the worker’s death.

OWWA Regional Director Marivic Mondina led the second visit on Oct. 24 to guide the family through the process of repatriating the worker’s remains.
