Kumkum Mohod, a double gold medal-winning archer at Asian Games 2026, is all set to be a part of the NDTV World Summit 2026, set to take place in New Delhi on October 22 and 23. At just 17, Kumkum has etched her name into Indian archery folklore, becoming the first woman to win an individual recurve gold at the Asiad. Kumkum returned from Aichi-Nagoya as India's joint-most successful athlete, winning two golds and a silver.

All About Kumkum Mohod

Hailing from humble beginnings in Amravati's Gosavi Colony, Kumkum shot to fame a few weeks earlier with her heroics at the Asian Games. Despite taking up archery only three years ago, Kumkum has risen to become a trailblazer for the sport in India.

Her individual gold in Aichi-Nagoya was particularly impressive. Taking on South Korea's Oh Yejin in the final, she held her nerve and showed composure beyond her years to win a dramatic shoot-off.

Kumkum also spearheaded India to two more medals at the Asian Games - gold in the women's team recurve event, and silver in the mixed team one.

Yet to appear for her Class 12 board exams, Kumkum is already a star in the world of Indian sport.

All Eyes On Olympic Glory

Despite her incredible achievements at the Asian Games 2026, things are only just getting started for Kumkum Mohod. In fact, in nearly every interview since her medal treble at the Asiad, she has spoken of her dream to deliver a first archery medal at the Olympics.

"I am only 17 and also competing in the sub-junior category. But my dream is to win the individual recurve gold medal for India at the Los Angeles Olympics," she had told NDTV in an earlier interaction.

"Indian archers will definitely win an Olympic medal at LA 2028. It is possible that India could win more than one medal in archery," she had further said.
