Petronas, Thailand's PTT temporarily shut Songkhla gas pipeline

KUALA LUMPUR: Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) and Thailand's PTT have temporarily shut down the Songkhla Export Pipeline following an issue identified during a routine inspection.
Their joint venture, Trans Thai-Malaysia (Thailand) Limited (TTM), said the shutdown was a precautionary measure to protect the integrity of the pipeline and ensure safe operations.
"Petronas recognises the impact this may have on the gas supply to customers in Malaysia and Thailand, and proactive measures are being taken to ensure continuity of supply to customers in Malaysia.
"Petronas' integrated supply network provides the flexibility to sustain supply, and the company is working closely with its partners and customers to maintain system stability," the national oil company said in a statement.
The pipeline will resume operations once it is cleared as safe to do so.
Petronas said it remains focused on upholding the highest standards of safety and operational integrity while ensuring reliable supply to domestic customers in support of Malaysia's energy security.
