The Celebrity Traitors' latest banished star has "best reaction so far" to Traitor reveal

The Celebrity Traitors continued on Friday (16 October) as Maya Jama, King Kenny and James Acaster continued to wreak havoc, with the trio having to murder a Faithful in plain sight at the end of the episode.

The instalment also saw the latest banishment ceremony take place, with comedian Joe Lycett becoming the eighth player to exit the game. With the season now at the halfway point, 13 contestants remain.

As is tradition when a Faithful is eliminated, they appear on spin-off series The Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked to discuss their exit, and they also get a bonus treat as they discover the identity of the Traitors.

In a clip shared on Instagram, Lycett gets straight to the point as he asks host Ed Gamble "who are the Traitors? Who are they? Is it Ross Kemp?", with Gamble saying that they would "get to that".

They eventually did, with Gamble asking Lycett who he thought the Traitors were. It turned out that his powers of deductions weren't up to scratch, as he guessed that Romesh Ranganathan, James Blunt and Michael Sheen were the Traitors.

He was also asked who was a definite Faithful, to which he suggested Miranda Hart, Jama and Acaster. Of course, the latter two have been Traitors for a while, along with the recently-recruited Kenny.

Upon learning that his guesses were way off the mark, Lycett quipped: "I had no idea did I?... Is the next name going to be Claudia [Winkleman] or something… They're never going to find them. I need a drink. Wow. I can feel the blood pumping in my eyeballs."

The amusing clip was widely liked by fans of the popular BBC reality series, with one writing in the comment section: "Oh Joe what a shame. Loved watching you. It's been an absolute joy! Bloody legend."

"Best reaction so far 🤣🤣 but oh Joe you will be missed," added another viewer, while a third echoed this sentiment as they remarked: "Oh @joelycett it’s too soon, I wasn't ready 😢! You make me laugh a lot."

One viewer even predicted what could happen next in the castle, theorising: "It's a shame Joe is out - he was so entertaining. The Faithful are struggling & and I reckon its Blunt next for the chop."

The Celebrity Traitors airs on BBC One and streams on BBC iPlayer.
