PMK Entertainment Names Erik Bright Executive VP of Content and Strategic Communications
After years of running his own shop, Erik Bright is going corporate.
The veteran communications executive and strategist is joining PMK Entertainment as executive vp of content and strategic communications. He’ll continue to be based in Los Angeles but will help the firm oversee a bicoastal content publicity team that works across film and TV campaigns. Also, he’ll play a leadership role in PMK Entertainment’s global strategic communications practice.
Bright segues the senior post from Prodigy Public Relations, a firm he founded and ran for the past 16 years as president and CEO. He’s not walking away entirely, however, as he’ll roll his content and corporate business portfolio into PMK Entertainment. He reports to Dennis Dembia, PMK’s president of strategic communications.
“Erik brings an exceptional combination of creative vision, deep industry relationships and strategic communications expertise to PMK. His track record of building a successful agency and delivering impactful campaigns make him a tremendous addition to our leadership team,” said PMK Entertainment CEO Cindi Berger. Added PMK Entertainment president Alan Nierob: “Erik strengthens both sides of our business, bringing proven campaign expertise to our bi-coastal content team and real strategic depth to our strategic communications practice lead by Dennis Dembia.”
Bright’s new boss, Dembia, said he’s known the exec for years and has respected not only his “resolute” commitment to coming through for his roster but also his relationships. “Wearing multiple hats, Erik has orchestrated incredible campaigns launching many films and TV series in innovative fashions, while also operating as one of the savviest corporate media strategists in the space. As we continue layering influence within PMK, having experienced, forward-thinking leaders like Erik creates leverageable strategic efficiencies. His leadership will be vital as we focus on unlocking new opportunities for our clients across the entertainment, media and sports ecosystem,” Dembia noted.
Bright said it’s an honor to join Berger, Nierob, Dembia and the PMK Entertainment team.
“I’ve long admired what they’ve built. It’s one of the most respected names in entertainment communications, with a legacy few agencies can match. Building Prodigy over the past 16 years has been the privilege of my career, and I’m incredibly proud of the work we’ve done for our clients and filmmakers,” he said. “PMK offers the scale and resources to take that work even further, and I look forward to bringing my experience to a team that shares my commitment to smart, results-driven communications.”
At Prodigy Public Relations, Bright managed campaigns for studios, independent distributors, production and financing companies, content creators, film festivals, filmmakers and other companies in the entertainment space. He’s got a long list of credits including such campaigns as Crash, Sideways, Little Miss Sunshine, Margin Call, Promising Young Woman, The Holdovers, Hamnet, Black Bag, Last Breath, The Furious, Blackberry, In Cold Light, The Napa Boys and Miley Cyrus’ album and film Something Beautiful to name a few.
Some more: James McAvoy’s forthcoming directorial debut California Schemin’, Babak Anvari’s thriller Hallow Road starring Rosamund Pike and Matthew Rhys, the Elizabeth Banks-starrer Dreamquil with John C. Reilly, a SXSW Midnighters Audience Award winner Never After Dark, the Netflix documentary Skywalkers: A Love Story, Megan Park’s The Fallout starring Jenna Ortega and Maddie Ziegler, All is Lost, Kill Your Darlings, Spike Lee’s Red Hook Summer, The Raid, Mandy starring Nicolas Cage, and more.
Before Prodigy, Bright, who trots the globe at major festivals like Sundance, Toronto, SXSW, Tribeca, Cannes and Berlin, served as partner and vp at Insignia PR and Media Strategies. He began his career at Eddie Michaels & Associates working for the late beloved rep, who once represented the likes of Drew Barrymore, Anjelica Huston, Lou Diamond Phillips and Noah Wyle.
R&CPMK, one of the town’s high profile publicity firms and home to stars Denzel Washington, Eddie Murphy, Kevin Costner, Hugh Jackman and others, became PMK Entertainment when it joined Michael Nyman’s Acceleration Community of Companies, or ACC, in November 2025.
