Kelantan police misconduct complaints rise to 330 this year

Translate

KOTA BARU: Misconduct complaints involving Kelantan police recorded by the Integrity and Standard Compliance Department (JIPS) rose to 330 this year compared with 224 last year.

State police chief Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat said that, of the total, 75 cases were opened for disciplinary investigation papers (KST) in both years.

He said cases under disciplinary enquiry papers (KET) dropped from 24 cases to 11.

"The JIPS statistics must serve as a reminder that compliance with rules, discipline, and integrity cannot be taken lightly.

"Therefore, JIPS must continue to strengthen monitoring, ensure every complaint is handled professionally and fairly, and step up preventive efforts," he said during the Kelantan police headquarters monthly assembly here today.

Yusoff said these efforts were vital to ensure all personnel adhere strictly to service ethics and trust.

"I want all police personnel to understand that integrity is not an option, discipline is not a burden, and accountability is not a mere procedure.

"Rank provides power, but integrity reflects authority and dignity.

"Remember, a single black thread can spoil a white weave, just as misconduct by one officer or personnel can overshadow the contributions and sacrifices of thousands in the force," he said.
