2026 U17 WWC: ‘Black Maidens game against Brazil non-negotiable’ – Joe Adarkwa

Head coach of the Black Maidens Nana Joe Adarkwa says his side's game against Brazil is a must-win if they are to advance into the next round of the competition.

Ghana face Brazil in their second group game of the tournament after suffering a disappointing 3-0 loss to Norway in their campaign opener.

Brazil sit top of Group C, having defeated Canada in the other group game over the weekend.

Adarkwa's side will need to beat the South Americans to stand a chance of making the knockout stages, and the boss is aware of the task ahead.

"Our objective for the Brazil match is simple and non-negotiable: we have to win at all costs," he said in his pre-match presser.

"We cannot lose this match. A win or a draw will be okay so that we can tackle the last match with a clear path forward. But make no mistake, we are going for the win.

"We know this will be a tough match. Brazil is a formidable opponent, but we will deliver. The girls are ready."

Ghana will face Brazil at 18:00 GMT on Wednesday, October 21, before taking on Canada in their final group game on Saturday, October 24.
