Ash emission was observed on Kanlaon Volcano on Negros Island on Sunday morning, October 18, 2026, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported.
PHIVOLCS said its Canlaon City Observation Station observed the ash emission from the volcano's summit crater from 6:02 a.m. to 6:04 a.m.
“The event generated a grayish plume that rose 150 meters above the summit crater before drifting southwest,” PHIVOLCS said.
