Over 9,000 earthquake, flooding victims in Sarangani receive aid from GMA Kapuso Foundation

Over 9,000 individuals in Sarangani received aid from the GMA Kapuso Foundation three months after their lives were changed by the 7.8 magnitude earthquake in Mindanao.

According to a report on "24 Oras" on Monday, many residents in Barangay Mudan, Glan are yet to rebuild their homes and still live in tents.

Under Operation Bayanihan, residents of Glan, Maasim, Malapatan, and Alabel received new beddings, houseware, rechargeable fans, and clothes from Nitori Philippines. They were also given food packs, hygiene kits, and hygiene kits.

"Thank you to GMA, this is a big help for our family," said Joseph Alison, one of the beneficiaries, in Filipino.

Joseph's family home, which stood for more than 15 years, was also torn down by the earthquake and the flash flood that happened soon after.

"Everything was gone," he said.

Rosalie Barcena's family home was also torn down by the flooding, but they still return to it to take baths and do laundry with a poso, as water supply is hard to come by in the evacuation site.

"We worked hard for our home to get fixed. But when we got back after a few minutes, our items and our home got damaged," she said.
