Mötley Crüe celebrated a major milestone on Thursday morning (Oct. 1). In an Instagram post, the veteran metal band proudly held up a Spotify one billion streams plaque for “Kickstart My Heart,” the raucous single from their 1989 fifth studio album Dr. Feelgood.

The song, which peaked at No. 27 on the Billboard Hot 100 in early 1990, is one of the Crüe’s most beloved songs and in the caption to the post singer Vince Neil, bassist Nikki Sixx, drummer Tommy Lee and guitarist John 5 were all smiles as they held up the plaque, with the ever-excitable Lee pointing to the honor with his mouth agape.

“ONE BILLION streams of “Kickstart My Heart” on @Spotify – What an incredible honor! 🏍️🔥,” read the caption. “A billion thanks to all the Crüeheads around the world who helped take it there. This one’s for YOU!!”

The band performed the song — inspired by Sixx’s near-fatal heroin overdose in 1987, in which he had to be revived by paramedics — on this year’s American Idol finale with judge and 2005 winner Carrie Underwood. They also recently completed their Return of the Carnival of Sins tour with Tesla and Extreme, wrapping up the North American leg on Sept. 26 at Cascades Amphitheater in Ridgefield, Wash.; their next scheduled gig is at the Tons of Rock festival in Oslo, Norway in June of next year.

A 45th anniversary edition of the Crüe’s 1982 debut studio album, Too Fast For Love, is due out on Oct. 30. The set will include the original album, as well as the rare 1981 Leathür Records version the band self-released, in addition to a live double album from 1982, a five-track vinyl of their 1981 studio demos and a replica of their 1981 demo cassette, among other extras.
