EastEnders reveals "heartbreak" for Peter in Lauren and Mark affair story

EastEnders star Thomas Law has shared the heartbreak Peter Beale is set to experience due to Lauren Branning's affair with Mark Fowler Jr. Peter and Lauren's relationship has been up and down for almost 20 years, first dating as teenagers and repeatedly breaking up and getting back together over the decades.
The couple is currently very much on, yet Lauren is having an affair with Mark after the pair bonded when Mark used Max Branning's car lot for a stolen car operation to pay off a dangerous drug debt.
They provided emotional support for one another while going through difficult times, a friendship that soon blossomed into something more.

However, their relationship is a ticking time bomb that they haven't been able to keep under wraps, with sinister newcomer Ned Hawkins uncovering their affair.
Though he has vowed to keep their secret, time will only tell how true to his word he is, or whether Peter will find out via other means.
Speaking to The Mirror at the Pride of Britain Awards, Thomas shared what fans can expect from the storyline: "It's chaos, as per usual, and a lot of deceit. There's gonna be heartbreak."
He continued: "Family is the strongest bond. Everything is deeply rooted in family with regard to the Beales."
He said that Peter and Lauren are probably "trauma-bonded" considering everything they have been through together over the years, making it hard for them to go their separate ways.

"Peter seems to do things right for Lauren. He's got to reassess if things go wrong, but as long as he keeps Lauren, he's got to just be Peter. He makes her laugh," he added.
