Celebrity Traitors star Sharon Rooney leads TV thriller An Impossible Way To Die

Sharon Rooney, who is currently appearing in the new series of Celebrity Traitors, will explore more murder mysteries as she leads new TV drama An Impossible Way To Die.
The Scottish actress, 37, is among the stars competing in the second series of the BBC reality show – which sees contestants try to seek out the traitors among them who “kill off” players in the middle of the night.
Rooney will also use her skills of deduction in the new thriller as she takes on the role of detective sergeant Katie Salter, whose quiet local policing life is upended when she is thrust into a high-pressure murder investigation.

Emmett J Scanlan will play Niall Conway, who is working with Katie Salter (Sharon Rooney) on the seemingly impossible case
Across six hour-long episodes, her character is dragged into an “impossible” case surrounding the mysterious deaths of four people at what appears to be a dinner party, with the only clue being a scorpion crawling out of a victim’s mouth.
The series will also star MobLand actor Emmett J Scanlan as detective inspector Niall Conway, who clashes with DS Salter as they work together on the investigation.
Secrets are unearthed, conspiracies emerge and lives are put at risk as the detectives face increasing pressure to “unmask a killer before it’s too late”.
Irish actor Scanlan, whose character has an all-consuming dedication to his work, is seen looking tense in interactions with Rooney’s DS Salter in a first look at the show.
Meanwhile the actress, from Glasgow, is seen looking distressed as her character uncovers evidence in a library archive room in a glimpse at the drama to come.
