The Indian men’s hockey team bagged the final medal for India at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya on Saturday.
With a second consecutive gold medal in the event, India took its tally to 85 medals — 21 gold, 27 silver and 37 bronze.
Despite falling short of its Hangzhou 2022 total of 106 medals, India will retain fourth place, pipping Uzbekistan (also 21 golds) by virtue of having more silver medals.
China continued to dominate the Asian multi-discipline event winning 341 medals in total, including a staggering 169 golds.
Host Japan finished second with a rich haul of 269 medals followed by South Korea which bagged 150.
