Coronation Street confirms who causes Eva Price's fall in early ITVX episode

Coronation Street spoilers follow from Thursday's episode (24 September), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn't aired on ITV1 yet.

Coronation Street has explained Eva Price's horror fall – with a surprising person responsible for her ordeal at the Rovers.

Fans have been speculating since last week, when show bosses announced that Eva would be left unconscious in the pub's cellar following a mysterious incident.

All becomes clear in Thursday's episode, as Eva is left alone at work after deciding to close up early.

Eva is battling with a cold and has little help to rely on, as her partner Ben Driscoll has taken her daughter Susie away for an audition in London.

Cutting her losses, she decides that it's best to get some rest rather than battling through the evening shift alone.

Just as Eva completes the last of her work duties for the day, there's an unexpected visitor at the pub as Sam Blakeman slips in to look for his missing phone.

Still struggling with his mental health, Sam is fixated on the device and wants it back as quickly as possible – much to the frustration of his dad Nick Tilsley.

When Eva gently asks what Sam is doing there, he panics and pushes past her, accidentally causing her to fall down the cellar stairs. With Sam horrified and reluctant to come forward, will the truth about the accident be revealed?

Spoilers for tomorrow's episode have revealed that Debbie Webster is first to find Eva after the incident, although she becomes confused and delays getting her the help she needs.

In the end, it's Glenda Shuttleworth who comes to the rescue and calls an ambulance, with shockwaves sent through the Street as everyone speculates about whether Eva fell or was pushed…
