A group of senior citizens held an anti-corruption protest activity in Quezon City on Saturday morning.
Members of the Seniors Kontra Kurakot said they were not satisfied with seeing former House speaker Martin Romualdez behind bars because they believe there is a bigger fish out there.
Romualdez was arrested and brought to the New Quezon City Jail after he was charged with plunder over his alleged involvement in anomalous flood control projects. He has pleaded not guilty during his arraignment.
The group also called for the monthly pension of qualified senior citizens to be raised to P2,000.
The members also said senior citizens should be included as members of the Social Security System and Government Service Insurance System. —with a report from Gabriel Gonzales/KG, GMA News
