Russell Brand trial - recap of first week's evidence

As we wait for week two of Russell Brand's trial to begin this morning, let's take a look at six of the key allegations made in court last week:

  • Brand became a 'monster' when he stripped naked and raped a woman in a hotel room at the Labour Party conference.
  • The actor turned into a 'wild-eyed maniac' as he tried to drag a TV worker into a toilet for a sexual encounter.
  • A woman who says she was raped by Brand claims the comedian apologised for treating her 'like an animal'.
  • Brand 'sniggered' after kissing and groping a woman while members of his entourage watched on and did nothing to help her.
  • He is a 'ruthless and manipulative' predator who laughed at women when they refused to agree to his sexual demands.
  • The comedian had a 'huge preoccupation' with sex and spent most nights out looking for women to sleep with.

He denies all the charges against him, and the trial continues today.
