Sean Bean's "exquisite" real-life drama with Peaky Blinders star is out now in the UK

Sean Bean's new real-life drama The Yellow Tie has landed in the UK. The biopic tells the story of Romanian conductor and composer Sergiu Celibidache. Following his life from his childhood, the narrative documents aspects such as Sergiu's struggle to survive in wartime Germany as well as his exile in pursuit of a music career.
Viewers wanting to catch the film can now do so, with The Yellow Tie released in UK cinemas as of today.
Bean plays the role of father Demostene Celibidache in the movie, with Pride's Ben Schnetzer portraying Sergiu and Wild Horse Nine's John Malkovich taking on his older incarnation.

Peaky Blinders' Kate Phillips also stars as Ioana Celibidache, with Good Omens' Miranda Richardson playing her as an older woman.
The Yellow Tie comes from Sergiu's real-life son, Serge Ioan Celebidachi, and has received a strong reception, one fan on IMDb calling it "exquisite".
"I cried and it amazed me how people stayed until the final credits and applauded each archive footage of Celibidache shown," they added. "What to take from home: loads of tissues. What to take back: smiles and raw emotion. I for one will definitely go and watch it again."
"A great movie," another added. "A remarkable film that stays with you long after the credits. Go to cinemas to watch."
A third penned: "I've just come out of the cinema theatre, tears still in my eyes after a truly memorable experience. It's the only movie i've seen in cinema where the audience actually applauded, as if it were a live concert... And stayed to see the end credits."

A fourth suggested it was "a masterpiece" and "pure art", and "easily not simply the best movie produced in Romania after the 90s but internationally".
Meanwhile, on the critics side of things, The Guardian awarded it three stars, calling it "an old-fashioned biopic from central Europe that is also a labour of love on the part of its director".
The Movie Buff further suggested it was "a sincere, sometimes uneven attempt to bridge gaps—between father and son, between past and present, between art as lived experience and art as something shaped for an audience".
The Yellow Tie is out now in UK cinemas.
