"You're gonna like this one": Kin star Emmett J Scanlan issues update about brand-new season

It's been a few years, but the third season of Irish crime drama Kin is on its way, with star Emmett J Scanlan teasing fans about how it's going to be worth the wait.
The series focuses on a family that runs a small criminal business and tries to maintain an uneasy alliance with a big-time drug lord.
Season 1 released in 2021 and season 2 came out in 2023, so fans have been waiting a while. But, as Scanlan revealed, filming has now officially wrapped, meaning the show's comeback is one step closer to hitting our screens.

"THAT'S A WRAP ON KIN!!!!!! SEASON 3!!" he wrote on his Instagram.
"The gift that keeps on gifting, I gotta thank every soul who made this possible. Especially those behind the camera, especially those specific poets & producers who fought tooth and nail to get this over the line…
"But there would have been no fight had you guys not fallen so deeply in love with our story… so really this one is for you guys. And if I was a betting man, I’d say you’re gonna like this one. Very, very much."
Scanlan also responded to a news report that stated he had been bitten by a snake and was unconscious for four days, deciding to have some fun.

After calling the report "utter bullshit", Scanlan said he was "here to set the record straight".
"I was out for 8 days and lost a foot, which was weird since I only got bitten on the hand. Twice. Hope that clears it up. Nothing but love to yis all."
In the accompanying video, Scanlan explained that he had some injections and was eating with his co-stars not long after being bitten. He also showed off a motorbike made of scrap metal that one of the production team had made.
Alongside Scanlan, Kin also stars Daredevil's Charlie Cox, Small Things Like These's Clare Dunn, and Game of Thrones' Aidan Gillen and Ciarán Hinds.
Kin streams on BBC iPlayer and airs on RTÉ in Ireland.
