Netflix's smash-hit mystery series Wednesday gives massive season 3 update with new teaser pic

Netflix's hugely popular Addams Family series Wednesday has just received a big update for its third season, as well as a brand-new teaser image. The show's second season is the streaming giant's sixth most-watched batch of episodes of all time when it comes to English-language shows. The first season is number one — and it's not even close. It had 252.1 million views compared to runner-up Adolescence's 142.6 million.

So, it's safe to say there's a lot of anticipation for season 3, which is why this newest update is so exciting.

As announced by Netflix, production has officially wrapped on Wednesday season 3. That means filming has finished and the show will now be sent to the editing bay to put it all together.

The streamer also released a new teaser image along with the exciting news, which shows Jenna Ortega's Wednesday sitting at a typewriter, looking ahead with a very serious expression on her face (actually, now we think about it, that's kind of the character's default look).

The streamer hasn't released any new plot details about the season yet, but it has confirmed the cast.

As well as Ortega, the season will include: Emma Myers, Hunter Doohan, Joy Sunday, Moosa Mostafa, Georgie Farmer, Isaac Ordonez, Billie Piper, Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo, Victor Dorobantu, Evie Templeton and Oscar Morgan.

Rounding out the cast are: Kennedy Moyer, Luis Guzmán, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Joanna Lumley, Eva Green, Winona Ryder, Chris Sarandon, Lena Headey and Fred Armisen.

Season 2 ended with Wednesday, Uncle Fester and Thing setting off to find her friend Enid, who had become stuck in werewolf form.

We do know that at least part of the new season will be set in Paris and we'll also get to meet Wednesday's aunt Ophelia Frump.

Wednesday seasons 1 and 2 are available to stream on Netflix now.
