Woman wounded as motorcycle-riding gunmen fire at vehicle in Makati

MANILA, Philippines – A woman was wounded after two unidentified motorcycle-riding gunmen fired several shots at her vehicle along Chino Roces Avenue in Makati on Thursday morning.

In a report by the District Tactical Operations Center of the Southern Police District, the shooting occurred at about 6:50 a.m. along Chino Roces Avenue in front of Unibank and BDO, beside Oriental Place in Barangay Pio del Pilar.

Authorities are conducting further investigation and case buildup to identify the suspects and circumstances behind the shooting.

Police said the victim was driving a white Nissan Terra when two men aboard a red motorcycle approached and positioned themselves beside her vehicle.

The suspects then fired several shots, hitting the victim in the leg and thigh.

Responding police officers from Sub-Station 3 of the Makati City Police Station proceeded to the scene after receiving a call from the Station Tactical Operations Center.

The suspects were reportedly wearing ride-hailing service “Move It” attire; however, their motorcycle’s plate number was not identified.

The victim was taken to the Makati Medical Center by a rescue ambulance from Barangay Pio del Pilar for medical treatment.

Police considered a possible work-related motive, but this remains subject to further investigation. /jpv
