Magical DoReMi, Star Detective Precure! Anime Get Crossover Episode on October 25
The official website for Star Detective Precure!, the 23rd main anime entry in the Precure franchise, revealed on Friday that the anime will have a crossover episode with the Ojamajo Doremi (Magical DoReMi) anime with its 39th episode on October 25. The site unveiled a collaboration visual, as well as character visuals for the Star Detectives in Ojamajo Doremi-themed witch apprentice costumes.
The story of Star Detective Precure! is set in 1999, the year of the original Ojamajo Doremi anime's premiere. The crossover episode will be a Halloween-themed episode that has the Star Detectives donning the witch apprentice costumes.
The first Ojamajo Doremi anime series originally premiered in Japan in 1999, and 4Kids began broadcasting a heavily edited version of the series in the United States in 2005 under the title Magical DoReMi. Looking for Magical DoReMi (Majo Minarai o Sagashite), the anime film commemorating the 20th anniversary of Ojamajo Doremi, opened in 2020 after a delay. It won the Best Animation Film award at the 75th Mainichi Film Awards in 2021.
Star Detective Precure! debuted on February 1 on ABC TV, TV Asahi, and their affiliate channels at 8:30 a.m. JST. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime in North America, Central America, South America, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and CIS.
The anime centers on Anna Akechi, a second year middle school student who lives in Makoto Mirai Town. She travels back in time from 2027 to 1999 when her "companion fairy" named Pochitan appears on her birthday. In 1999 Makoto Mirai Town, Anna meets Mikuru Kobayashi, another second year middle school student who dreams of becoming a great detective. The two girls witness the troubles caused by the Phantom Thieves who steal people's precious belongings, and they transform into great Precure detectives and use their deductive reasoning skills to protect the people's smiles.
