Man City Found Guilty On 114 Charges Of EPL Financial Breaches

Manchester City have been found guilty on almost all of the charges relating to breaches of the Premier League’s financial regulations.

City were first charged with 115 breaches of these rules in February 2023.

But, according to talkSPORT, the Citizens have now been found guilty on all but one of the 115 charges.

The sanctions have not been decided, with all possibilities remaining on the table.

talkSPORT understands City will appeal once it is confirmed the charges have gone against them.

A Premier League spokesperson told talkSPORT that the league process remains ongoing, with significant elements to be completed, and subject to strict confidentiality.

As such Manchester City FC’s position remains consistent with the Club’s statement of February 2023.

In 2023, the club said it was ‘surprised’ by the charges and it ‘welcomes the review of this matter by an independent commission, to impartially consider the comprehensive body of irrefutable evidence that exists in support of its position’.

A Premier League spokesperson has now said: “The Club has diligently respected due process for eight years on the basis that the Premier League Board and Executive would behave as an independent, impartial and fair-minded regulator, free from partisan influence.”

City were first charged following an investigation into alleged breaches between 2009 and 2018.

The investigation began after German newspaper Der Spiegel published leaked financial documents from City in November 2018.

The case was referred to an independent commission to adjudicate over the charges.

According to the Times, Premier League clubs were informed of the outcome of Man City’s charges after a meeting on Thursday.

City have won a total of eight Prem titles, four FA Cups, seven League Cups and one Champions League under the ownership of Sheikh Mansour – who bought the club in 2008.

Six of those honours have come since the charges were brought forward.
