India qualifies for AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup 2027 after beating Malaysia

The win means that India will take part in the continental competition for the second consecutive edition after reaching the quarterfinals in its latest appearance earlier this year.

The Indian Under-17 women’s football team has qualified for the AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup 2027 after beating Malaysia 4-0 at the MP Selayang Stadium in Selayang on Sunday.
Redima Devi opened the scoring for India in the 30th minute with a dipping strike from the edge of the box, a lead that India carried into the break.
Pratika Barman the doubled the advantage in the 51st minute from close range before Anushka Kumari landed another blow six minutes later from outside the area.
The game was put to bed in the 87th minute when Nidhi Pawan Kumar skipped past the opposition goalkeeper to fire the ball into an empty net.
The win means that India will take part in the continental competition for the second consecutive edition after reaching the quarterfinals in its latest appearance earlier this year.
The tournament will be held in China from March 31 to April 17, 2027.
