Grey’s Anatomy adds a number of new cast members for season 23 – with character details, revealed

Grey's Anatomy is growing as the Seattle-set long-running medical drama has just announced a host of new cast members joining the show for season 23.

The series is welcoming three new faces to the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, with Schitt's Creek star Sarah Levy, Martin Martinez and Trevor Tordjman being cast as guest stars.

Variety has unveiled the character descriptions for all three Grey's newcomers, sharing that Levy is to play Corrie, described as "witty", "a bit of an oddball" and "very pregnant".

"She has a lot of anxiety about giving birth to her second child after the traumatic experience she had with her first child," the description reads.

Martinez, seen in Netflix's coming-of-age dramedy Never Have I Ever, plays Charlie, a character who "has had a rough upbringing and as a result of the trauma he's experienced, he has a tough exterior and struggles to trust other people".

Tordjman, whose acting credits include The Studio and The Sex Lives of College Girls, plays Thomas, described as a "fun-loving and charming boy next door who doesn't realise he is as cute as he is".

"Thomas is at the hospital to help ensure his brother's girlfriend is okay," the description also reveals.

Grey's aired its season 22 finale in May, with the latest chapter ending in the exits of Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd) and Teddy Altman (Kim Raver) and a surprise proposal from Ellen Pompeo's character Meredith to her on-off partner Nick Marsh, played by Scott Speedman.

Series 23 is set to debut this autumn, with a new episode premiering on 15 October.

Grey's Anatomy airs on ABC in the US. Previous seasons are streaming on Disney+ in the UK.
