Manila Water releases November desludging schedule

Translate

MANILA, Philippines — As Filipino families return home after traveling to their respective provinces and visiting cemeteries to honor departed loved ones during Undas, Manila Water is encouraging customers to attend to household sanitation by availing themselves of the company’s scheduled desludging services this November.

With families settling back into their regular routines, customers are reminded to check the condition of their septic tanks and ensure that these are properly maintained. Regular desludging helps prevent septic tanks from overflowing, producing foul odors, and contaminating surrounding areas and waterways.

Manila Water recommends having septic tanks desludged every five years as part of proper household sanitation and wastewater management. Maintaining septic tanks not only helps keep homes clean but also protects the health of families and their surrounding communities.

For November, Manila Water’s desludging trucks and ground teams will be deployed in the following barangays in Rizal Province: Bagong Nayon, Sta. Cruz, and San Luis in Antipolo City; San Andres and San Isidro in Cainta; San Isidro and San Jose in Rodriguez (Montalban); and the entire municipalities of Baras and Jalajala.

Manila Water desludging teams will also visit select accounts in Barangays Libis, Pasong Tamo, Roxas, Santo Cristo, and Valencia in Quezon City; and Tumana and Malanday in Marikina City.

“As families return home following the Undas break, we encourage our customers to make household sanitation part of getting back into their regular routines. Through proper septic tank maintenance, we can work together to keep our homes and communities clean, healthy, and safe,” said Manila Water Communication Affairs Department Head Dittie Galang.

The collected sludge is transported to Manila Water’s wastewater treatment facilities, where it undergoes proper treatment before the treated effluent is safely discharged. This process helps prevent untreated waste from reaching rivers and other waterways.

Customers in the scheduled barangays are encouraged to coordinate with their respective barangay officials or contact Manila Water through Hotline 1627 for information on the desludging schedule and service arrangements.
