Pertamina restores fuel, LPG supplies in Flores after NTT quake

Translate

Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, a subsidiary of state-owned energy company Pertamina, is gradually restoring fuel and LPG supplies across Flores, East Nusa Tenggara, after a magnitude 7.7 earthquake disrupted operations at dozens of gas stations on Saturday.

Pertamina Patra Niaga Vice President of Corporate Communications Kitty Andhora stated on Sunday that 32 of Flores’ 52 gas stations were operating, while 20 remained closed due to earthquake damage.

Operations remain fluid and are being monitored continuously, Andhora said.

"Some closed stations face power outages, damaged facilities, or unsafe surroundings. Others are structurally safe but remain closed as operators prioritize safety," she said.

Pertamina Patra Niaga is coordinating with local authorities to maintain fuel distribution.

"Fuel deliveries use tankers with additional security, particularly along routes affected by landslides," she said, adding that closed stations will reopen gradually as safety allows.

“We are maintaining fuel and LPG supplies while gradually restoring stations according to field conditions. We are also ensuring access to energy through operating stations,” Andhora said.

Two gas stations in Manggarai Regency sustained structural damage to their filling areas and remain closed.

Residents can access operational stations in the area, including SPBU 54.86.501 on Jl. Yos Sudarso, Mbaumuku; SPBU 54.86.503 on Jl. Ruteng-Benteng Jawa, Tenda; and SPBU 54.86.509 on Jl. Raya Ruteng-Labuan Bajo, Km 4.

Five LPG distributors across Flores remain fully operational with undamaged facilities, Andhora noted.

LPG inventories at each distributor are being monitored and adjusted according to supply needs.

Twelve kerosene distributors were affected by the earthquake. Pertamina Patra Niaga is maximizing operations while monitoring constraints at the Reo Fuel Terminal and landslide-affected roads, including the Nagekeo-Ngada route to Ende.

Road access remains a primary challenge for fuel distribution. Landslides have blocked sections of the Reo-Ruteng road, the Ende-Bajawa Trans-Flores route, and the Trans Marapokot road.

Heavy machinery is clearing landslide debris, though road conditions remain subject to change.

"We continue to monitor facilities and secure distribution routes in coordination with local authorities," Andhora said.

Residents can access Pertamina services and updates via Pertamina Call Center 135 or the MyPertamina application.
