Bristol City and Millwall get their 2026/27 Championship season underway on Saturday afternoon at Ashton Gate.
The Robins are now led by former Lincoln City boss Michael Skubala after he replaced Roy Hodgson in the dugout.
Bristol City, who are entering their 12th consecutive Championship season, finished 12th in the league last time out and while they ended up 11 points off the play-off spots, they never fully threatened to make a top-six push.
Millwall finished third last season and just one point off the automatic promotion spots. It didn't go to plan for them in the play-offs though, as Alex Neil's side lost in the semi-finals against eventual winners Hull City.
While Millwall may not be fighting for automatic promotion this season, they'll be boosted by the fact that the Championship play-offs have been expanded from four to six teams this campaign.
