Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Transferred to New Prison After Contraband Scandal

Translate

Imprisoned rap mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has been transferred from the federal prison where he has been incarcerated for the past year after a report indicated that he harbored contraband items and paid fellow inmates to assist in what amounted to a pampered prison lifestyle while serving his 50-month sentence.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter on Friday that the agency is transferring Combs, 56, from FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey to FCI Allenwood Low. His new federal lock-up is a low-security facility south of Williamsport, Pennsylvania, about 110 miles northwest of Allentown.

“We can confirm that Sean Combs transferred to FCI Allenwood Low on Friday, Oct. 16, 2026. For privacy, safety, and security reasons, we do not discuss the conditions of confinement for any individual in our custody, including reasons for transfer,” the agency said.

The news comes after Combs suffered a head injury and was taken out of the prison to a local hospital overnight on Saturday. The fallen hip hop icon left the facility around 1 a.m. and was back behind bars before 7 a.m., according to a report from TMZ. Sources told the outlet he was conscious and talking to people during the incident.

Combs had been placed in the prison’s special housing unit prior to the injury and his brief exit from Fort Dix. He was removed from the general prison population after a report from Dateline revealed the lifestyle he’d curated for himself inside the facility. This involved having money added to the commissary accounts of a crew of fellow inmates who, in exchange for the funds, covered the former near-billionaire’s chores, including making the rapper’s bed, cleaning his toilet and shower, giving him massages, and ensuring he had better food than the rest of the prison population.

NBC News reported that Combs used a contraband, jailbroken tablet with Instagram installed to communicate with the outside world and to have money added to the commissary accounts of his crew of personal assistants.

Fort Dix officials sanctioned Combs for “disruptive conduct” and stripped him of 41 days of good conduct time he had accrued over his first year at the facility.

Speaking about the transfer on Friday, Juda Engelmayer, a personal spokesperson for Combs, said he is hopeful as the rapper switches facilities for the remainder of his sentence.

“Decisions about inmate placement are made by the BOP, and we are not in a position to speak to the circumstances surrounding this transfer,” Engelmayer told the Associated Press on Friday. “Sean remains focused on moving forward, and we hope that his time at the new facility will be productive and without unnecessary disruption.”

Combs was convicted of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution and acquitted of the more serious racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges after an extensive trial in the summer of 2025. After a sentencing hearing in October, he was handed 50 months. He and his attorneys are awaiting a decision on their appeal.
