Glastonbury 2027 ticket scramble: The agony and ecstasy of fans as festival sells out in 42 minutes

Translate

Glastonbury 2027 tickets have sold out in less than 45 minutes, with some music fans feeling overjoyed, whilst others have been left sourly disappointed.

On Sunday hundreds of thousands of people joined the queue ahead of the 9am opening to try and bag themselves a spot at Worthy Farm next year.

The festival is returning 23 to 27 June next year following a fallow year in 2026 to allow the land to recover.

Posting on Instagram, the festival’s official page said: “Tickets for Glastonbury 2027 have now sold out.

“Thank you to everyone who bought one and we’re sorry to those of you who missed out on a morning where demand greatly exceeded supply.

“There will be a resale of any cancelled or returned tickets in spring 2027.”

Fans took to social media to share their joy at bagging themselves a spot at Worthy Farm.

“Trying for Glastonbury for the first time and getting tickets in 19 minutes I am crying,” wrote one.

“Humble brag. Glastonbury tickets sorted. Woot woot,” said another.

Unlucky festivalgoer Isabelle Kelly told The Standard: “I’ve tried every year for tickets and the only people who seem to get in have some sort of contact inside the festival or are rich enough to buy their way in”

“I don’t know why i even thought we would get Glastonbury tickets in the first place lol,” one user said online.

“This is an absolute joke. The same people every year get the tickets,” another complained.

A third vented: “Same people every year manage to get tickets for Glastonbury. Absolute scam.”

Tickets for 2027 cost £408 each, including the £5 booking fee, plus postage and packing.

Festivalgoers were required to register before attempting to buy a ticket, with registration closing at 5pm on Friday, September 25.

For unlucky music fans who missed out this year, they can try their luck again in April, which is when the remaining balance on tickets bought in October is due.

The exact details and date of the 2027 resale have not yet been announced by organisers.

Any resale tickets are expected to be sold through the official See Tickets website, rather than third-party platforms.
