GTA 6 age rating reveal includes gruesome gameplay details

Translate

With GTA 6 receiving the 18 rating we all knew it would, a series of very gruesome gameplay descriptions have come to light.

On Friday, Europe's PEGI rating board officially published its 18 rating for the game, just days after it received an 'M for Mature' ESRB rating.

But while nobody batted an eyelid at the expected age rating, interests were piqued by some of the details that surfaced along with them.

While the PEGI rating has since been pulled from the website, it noted that GTA 6 features violence that is "bloody with a high degree of realism," before adding that certain weapons are capable of causing "decapitation and dismemberment".

Players can also harm animals in the game, including pets, although PEGI notes that "this does not produce the same injury detail that can be generated towards human characters".

Grand Theft Auto has obviously never shied away from violence – that's kind of the entire point of it – but it has never before gone so far in terms of graphic violence.

But the violence is far from the only reason the rating boards are recommending the kids stay well away from the game.

GTA 6 reportedly features "frequent and prominent" drug use, with players being able take drugs directly from their inventory.

A further comment reads: "Most notably, cocaine can be carried around by the player and snorted directly from their hand at any time."

The game will also feature heavy sexual themes, as has been the case in previous games in the series.

GTA 6 will include "nudity, scenes of intercourse and occasional scenes of sexual fetishes".

Additionally: "In various nightclubs, the player can also pay for private dances, during which the game allows the player to move their hands onto the dancers' breasts and buttocks."

So, Grand Theft Auto 6 is going to be violent, drug and sex fuelled – and water is still wet.
