The Ghana Education Service (GES) has confirmed that 56,003 teachers have received promotion-related salary adjustments and arrears, with outstanding cases awaiting validation and payment by the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD).

In a press release dated Friday, October 16, the GES said 49,725 teachers received their payments on Thursday, October 15, including arrears dating back to January 1, 2026.

The remaining 6,278 teachers were paid in September 2026, bringing the total number of beneficiaries to 56,003.

The Service said all outstanding cases had been fully processed and were awaiting the CAGD to reopen its portal for validation and payment.

According to the GES, the CAGD’s system had been closed since October 7 to facilitate the processing of supplementary payments and October salaries.

It said the outstanding payments would be completed once the department reopened the system.

The GES expressed appreciation to stakeholders who supported the process, particularly the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations, teacher unions and the CAGD.
