Khushbu Sundar marks 40 years in Tamil cinema, thanks fans and critics

Veteran actress Khushbu Sundar has completed 40 years in Tamil cinema. Marking the milestone, the actress took to Instagram to reflect on her long journey in the industry and express gratitude to the people who supported her throughout her career.

She also gave a special shout-out to those who opposed her or tried to derail her journey, saying that both experiences played a part in shaping her career.

Khushbu recently received an honour at the South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) for her contribution to the film industry. Reflecting on the recognition and her four-decade journey, the actress said she was proud of everything she had achieved.“When you are honoured for being who you are, for your hard work, professionalism, dedication and the grit to keep walking no matter what, at this moment I just want to say to hell with modesty, I HAVE MADE IT.

Thank you #SIIMA for making me feel so special with this honour. The journey has been incredible,” she wrote in an Instagram post.The recognition came as Khushbu completed 40 years in the South Indian film industry, marking a significant milestone in her career.

Khushbu thanks fans and those who opposed her

Khushbu also looked back at the beginning of her journey, recalling how she faced the camera for her first South Indian film in Chennai in 1986. She described reaching the 40-year milestone as a surreal experience and thanked audiences for accepting her over the decades.

“Jan 1st 1986, I faced the camera for my 1st South Indian film in Chennai, to today 2026, as I pen down this note, it feels surreal. Thank you to all my fans for accepting me wholeheartedly, and a big shout-out to those who didn’t and worked against me to derail my journey; I wouldn’t have made it without either of you. East or West, South is the best,” she added.

Khushbu Sundar's latest work

On the work front, Khushbu Sundar was most recently seen in the Hindi action drama 'Subedaar', which premiered on OTT on March 5, 2026. She played Sudha Devi in the film alongside Anil Kapoor and Radhikka Madan.
