5 Coronation Street spoilers for tonight as key Jodie recording disappears

Coronation Street spoilers follow from Monday's episode (12 October), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn't aired on ITV1 yet.

In tonight's Coronation Street, Bethany finds out whether her secret is safe following Jodie's recent blackmail attempt.

Meanwhile, Kit is supported by family as he begins chemotherapy, and Debbie feels humiliated when Ronnie fears for her safety at home.

Read on for five big moments from Monday's episode…

1. Shona reassures Bethany

Shona and David remain baffled following Jodie's decision to discharge herself from hospital. There's no way for Shona to contact her sister, who left her phone behind when she scarpered. David dares to hope that it's the last they'll see of her.

When Bethany cautiously questions Shona about Jodie's phone, Shona admits that she's already listened to the secret recording which exposed Bethany and Kit's one-night stand. Shona confirms that she's already deleted the audio, so Bethany can breathe a sigh of relief… for now!

2. Kit accepts Brody and Bernie's support

As Kit prepares to start chemotherapy, he decides to get ahead of the side-effects by having his head shaved. When Brody arrives to offer his support, it's left to him to carry out the job with an electric razor.

Later, Bernie joins Kit for his first chemotherapy appointment. As they wait at the hospital, Kit lets his guard down and speaks to Bernie about his childhood and the moments she missed out on.

3. Debbie pushes Ronnie away

Debbie tries to poke a knife into the toaster at home. Knowing how dangerous this is, Ronnie intervenes and frets about what could have happened. Although he's only looking out for his wife, she feels patronised by his approach and the couple fall out.

With Ronnie clearly struggling under the pressure, Asha suggests that he should join a dementia support group and connect with people who have similar caring responsibilities.

4. Gary's furious as Jake acts up

Gary's son Jake is suspended from school for fighting, having been left shaken by the news that his father could soon be heading to prison.

Although Gary tries his best to discipline his son, he's wrong-footed as Jake berates him for putting Sarah's needs before those of his own family.

5. Idris plots revenge

Idris continues to push the theory that Nick deliberately handed over out-of-date meat to Speed Daal to sabotage the rival business. Nick dismisses his wild allegations, pointing out that his main focus is Sam's welfare rather than restaurant wars.

Although Nick manages to win round Leanne, an unhappy Idris proves more difficult to pacify. Before long, Idris comes up with a sneaky way to even the score and cause problems for the Bistro.

Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
