Translate

Nigeria Customs Service moved closer to ending a seven-year wait for the Nigeria Volleyball Premier League title after defeating NSCDC 3–0 in the final phase of the 2026 CGC Volleyball Premier League in Abuja on Tuesday.

Customs won 25–18, 25–22, 25–22 to strengthen their position in the men’s title race as the competition approaches its decisive stage.

The former champions controlled the opening set before facing a stronger challenge from NSCDC in the remaining two sets. However, they held their nerve to secure a straight-set victory and boost their hopes of reclaiming the crown.

The result leaves Customs well placed ahead of Thursday’s conclusion of the final phase, with the team seeking its first league title in seven years.

Elsewhere in the men’s competition, Defence Spikers defeated UCEM 3–0, while COAS Spikers recorded a straight-set victory over Kano Pillars.

Nigeria Correctional Service edged Nigeria Police Force 3–2 in a five-set contest, while Sunshine Spikers beat Offa VC 3–1. Defending champions CNS Spikers also swept Life Camp VC 3–0.

In the women’s category, Nigeria Customs Service defeated Kada Emeralds 3–0, while NSCDC overcame Anambra Queens by the same scoreline.

Fire Service beat Excelsior VC 3–1, COAS Spikers defeated Benue Queens 3–0, and CNS Spikers secured a 3–1 win over VIP Spikers. NAF Rockets also edged Olalomi Royal Angels 3–2.

With the final phase nearing its conclusion, Customs will hope to maintain their momentum and turn their latest victory into a long-awaited league triumph.
