Red Dead Redemption 3 Can Wait, We're Getting The Next-Best Thing After 8 Years

As technology has become more advanced over recent years, open-world games have become the norm, allowing players to enjoy maps without boundaries, explore off the beaten track, and take on a myriad of side quests and random encounters all whilst ignoring the ever-looming main quest.
Titles such as Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, No Man's Sky, and Minecraft are some such examples of open-world games that have perfected the formula, but there is one title that stands out more than most: Red Dead Redemption 2.
It Is Hard to Beat Rockstar
Released back in 2018 as the third installment in Rockstar Games' Red Dead franchise, Red Dead Redemption 2 has cemented itself as a modern-day classic and proves that, when it comes to sheer scale and attention to detail, Rockstar is hard to beat.
Set in a 19th century fictionalized version of the United States during the twilight years of the American Wild West, the story follows outlaw Arthur Morgan, as he operates across five distinct fictional states based on real-world American locations. With multiple states to work with, Rockstar managed to create a world with unique geography, biomes, climates, and history, and with traversal based around being horseback, it truly feels as though the map has no end.
Since its launch, it has been hard for players to recreate the feeling they had when they first experienced Red Dead Redemption 2, so it is no wonder that all eyes are on Rockstar to see what they do next.
Could GTA 6 Become Rockstar's Masterpiece?
Whilst we do not know what the long-term future holds for Rockstar, we do know what its short-term goals look like, and that is launching the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI this November. Over a decade in the making, GTA VI is expected to be the biggest game launch of all time, not just due to how many people will be playing it, but thanks to its sheer scale as Rockstar release its biggest and most ambitious open-world map to date.
Much like RDR2, it is expected to span across multiple states and locales, covering everything from mountain ranges to oceans and everything in between. Not only that, but players can expect ambitious activities such as mountain bike riding, parasailing, plane racing, and everything in between, and so it is hard to believe that Grand Theft Auto VI will not push the boundaries of gaming. If anybody can do it, Rockstar can.
Following a decade-long wait and multiple delays, Grand Theft Auto VI is finally expected to launch on 19 November 2026, meaning that we have just three months left to wait to see if the beloved franchise will continue to break records with its next major release.
