EastEnders reveals heartbreaking scheme to save Amy in early iPlayer release

EastEnders spoilers follow for Tuesday’s episode (3 November), which is available to watch now on streaming service BBC iPlayer and hasn’t yet aired on TV.

EastEnders has aired a heartbreaking scheme to bring Amy Mitchell home, as she remains on the run with evil groomer Craig Ingram. With Craig and Amy intending to travel to France to start a new life, their plans were suddenly put on hold as Amy’s loved ones discovered the bank account she had opened, and the police swiftly froze it.

When Craig realised that he could no longer access the £100,000 of inheritance money, he was furious and blamed Amy for what happened – before hitting her, in a cruel act of violence.

In today’s episode, Amy was traumatised by the events of the previous day, but Craig apologised for his actions and the teenager was drawn back in by his words.

Craig said that they still needed to leave the country and told Amy to steal money from the salon so they could make their fresh start.

Meanwhile, Amy’s loved ones gathered to discuss what to do next, and Sean suggested that Denise record a video for Amy and pretend that she has taken a turn for the worse in her cancer ordeal.

Jack was adamant that they shouldn’t tempt fate, but Denise was keen to do whatever it takes to get Amy back.

Denise, Sean and Chelsea went to the hospital and found an empty room for Denise to record a video – where she told Amy that she was going to die and she wanted to say goodbye to her.

At the same time, Amy and Craig arrived in the Square and Amy used the spare key to get into the salon. Before she could take any cash, Josh arrived, and he wasted no time in showing her Denise’s video.

Devastated Amy ran off without taking any money, but when she returned to Craig, she urged him to take her to the hospital to say goodbye to Denise.

As Josh informed Jack and the family about what happened, Craig drove Amy to the hospital and waited in the car. Sean and Chelsea saw Amy arrive, and the teen had an emotional reunion with Denise.

Denise was concerned when she saw the bruise on Amy’s face, but the plan fell apart when a nurse was surprised to see Denise and Amy realised that her latest health update was a lie.

Meanwhile, Sean used the opportunity to find Craig, and he cornered him in the car park. What will Sean do next?

EastEnders has been working on Amy's grooming storyline with support from Barnardo's and End Violence Against Women, with support and information available via their websites.

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
